FullElectric Electric Turbocharger Technology (FETT)

FullElectric Electric Turbocharger Technology (FETT)
Turbocharging has come into being since Mr Daimler and Mr Diesel first explored its potential in 1890s. But turbochargers have been refined greatly, and FullElectric Electric Turbocharger Technology (FETT) is the first major change to the flow of power from exhaust gas to inlet air.
Aeristech's FullElectric Electric Turbocharger introduces an electrical coupling between the turbine and compressor, replacing a conventional shaft layout. When using an electrical coupling, the turbine and compressor are free to operate at different speeds, which means the design is capable of far greater aerodynamic operation.
If available, a small energy storage device (such as a capacitor or battery pack) allows the compressor to respond rapidly to transient demand. The energy storage device can be conveniently recharged from the about 40% excess energy available in exhaust gas whenever a turbocharger is in use.
FullElectric Electric Turbocharger can:
(1) Eliminate perceived turbo lag by responding in under 0.5 second.
(2) Reduce CO2 emissions through engine downsizing.
(3) Allow better control of combustion by providing a definitive measure of compressor speed and precise control of boost pressure.
(4) Boast good control of Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR).
(5) Improve fuel consumption by harvesting more exhaust energy than a conventional turbocharger.
